Tried doing a run cycle, not sure if the coding worked but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

It's really exageratted and whatever, anything that looks wrong, please have faith I already know about it: limbs looking wierd, not moving smoothly in parts etc, I've been looking at it for ages lol.

TA DA!

This is a really cool way to display your run cycle.

He looks a little floaty to me. I think he needs to have a more extreme squash when he makes contact with the ground, bend his body a little more. Also his feet are sliding all over the place, make sure you don't move his feet once they contact the ground (unless he is running on a slippery surface)

But overall, nice job! I like the secondary bounce on his hair

lol the feet change size all the time, so I tried to make the heel hit the same place but the rest of the foot just G-mods around lol. This is the first run cycle I've done so hell yes it's a mess! I think I've improved (hopefully!)

Thanks for the crit :)

You're welcome! If you ever need help with animating anything I recommend googling Richard Williams (he worked on Who framed Roger Rabbit)I'm sure he has some tutorials online, I think he has some on youtube. I have his book 'The animators survival kit' and it is the most useful book I own!

same here! Usually I turn to the lecturers for advice but that book helps me out too :) I was surprised how much of it is just 'do it yourself' rather than there being a bunch of set ways to do everything, its quite nice

I love how experimental animation is, and that theres no one set way to do something (which can also be a litle annoying if you need help with getting something to look right haha)

That looks actually pretty smooth! Don't be too hard on yourself ;)
I like the little menu by the way, great to be able to see each frame :) Nice!

You critique yourself to harshly, I only see a smooth animation that I can't pull my eyes away from for some reason XD.
